This catalogue and puzzle/matching game are promotional items designed for an exhibition featuring the works of Gustav Klimt. While Klimt is generally viewed as a fine artist, one can find many elements of design within his art. Klimt’s work is heavily laden with patterns, symbols, and a strong sense of layout and composition. I emphasized these elements in order to celebrate Klimt’s design sensibilities as well as his painterly qualities. I applied gold foil to the exhibition materials, referencing Klimt’s own use of that medium in many of most well-known pieces.
